Ingredients for Sesame Walnut Shortbread:
Black sesame seeds (roasted) 40g
Walnut kernels (roasted) 65g
Granulated sugar 80g
Corn oil 125g
Cake flour 330g
Baking powder 3g
Baking soda 2g
Salt 1.5g
Egg 1
Instructions for making Sesame Walnut Shortbread:
Step 1: Place walnut kernels in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin, set aside.
Step 2: Pour corn oil into a bowl, add granulated sugar, and crack in an egg.
Step 3: Mix well with a manual whisk.
Step 4: Add the combined cake flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Step 5: Fold the mixture into a dough using a silicone spatula.
Step 6: Incorporate black sesame seeds and crushed walnut kernels.
Step 7: Put on disposable gloves and knead the dough into a ball.
Step 8: Divide the dough into 20g portions and roll into rounds. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
Step 9: Place the rolled balls into a mooncake mold to create patterned Sesame Walnut Shortbread.
Step 10: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the prepared Sesame Walnut Shortbread on it.
Step 11: Put the tray into the preheated oven.
Step 12: Bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
Step 13: The Sesame Walnut Shortbread is ready!
